About the role
GIWS seeks a senior infrastructure engineer with strong systems and networking depth. You will own production reliability across Linux and Windows servers, virtualization, routing, switching, VPNs, DNS, backups, and monitoring while mentoring engineers and improving operational standards.
What you will do
- Design, deploy, patch, harden, and troubleshoot server and network infrastructure.
- Administer virtualization, storage, backup, recovery, DNS, VPN, firewall, and connectivity services.
- Build monitoring, alerting, capacity, and configuration-management practices.
- Lead complex incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventive remediation.
- Maintain diagrams, runbooks, asset records, and tested recovery procedures.
What you bring
- 5+ years administering production systems and networks.
- Strong Linux, Windows Server, TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, VPN, and firewall knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, or comparable virtualization platforms.
- Scripting or automation ability and disciplined change-management habits.
- Relevant certifications are valued but practical troubleshooting depth is essential.
